For this reason, we have started voluntarily processing PFAS-free materials in the manufacture of our operational clothing, in order to gradually remove this pollutant from our collections.
PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) have long been used in textiles to achieve water-, dirt-, and grease-repellent properties. However, these substances pose a significant burden on the environment and health, as they are hardly biodegradable and can accumulate in soils, waters, and organisms over years.
